According to comments posted on his own blog, South American domain name specialist Christian Chena has concluded sales of the site he founded – juegos.com – for as much as $10 million.
Juegos is the Spanish term for games, making the site such a big money target, with buyers willing to shell out huge amounts to secure what will function as a generic domain name site for the world's numerous Spanish-speakers.
The buyers are claimed to be a European skill games and mobile games company looking to conquer Hispanic markets, which are big enough to make the multi-million fee sound a bargain.
Not only will the site function as a generic domain name for Spanish and South American audiences, but will also have the same product-specific hit generation for a large group in US society.
America, the world's biggest web-using country, has the world's fifth-largest Spanish speaking population – as many as 35 million speak the language in the US and are likely to conduct web searches in their native tongue.
If the sale is as high as claimed, juegos.com would be one of the biggest sales in domain name history
