Has anyone got a claim to my domain?

I just registered what I believe to be a really good domain, at the time I didnt even realise it had previously been registered and left to expire.

I noticed when on google there are quite a few sites already linking to it, then on the wayback machine I found that it was a website since 1997 then expired a few months ago.

I dont know much about the expired domain business, is there any chance someone might ask for it back... would they be entitled to it? - it is not a business name or trade mark as far as I know.

Once registered, it's yours. (Excluding "trade mark" names). Nothing to worry about.

it basicaly means that it iss no lonnger being used by that company. I think you found a gold mine! and no once registered it's yours to do as you please!

way back when (~1997) Microsoft let passport.com's registration expire/lapse (it was the same thing back then) over a long weekend.. Passport controlled logins for hotmail, and many other Microsoft sites (they envisioned it controlling access to millions of non Microsoft sites as well, but that never came to be).

Someone, with no relationship with microsoft, paid the renewal fee for them.
