After last week's Chinese Domain Name Registrar Conference held in Kunming by the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC)and China Net Technology Limited, many domain sellers have dropped their prices for CN domain by as much as 40%, such as the Shanghai IDC Network Information Technology Co., Ltd, Hongkong IDC Inc. and so on.

With the price drop, registrars hope to match the price of .COM domains by the middle of November. A typical .COM domain name currently sells for about RMB200 for an annual registration, said the China Net Technology Limited and CNNIC
